Governor Desantis’ Florida Deregathon meeting with the state’s 23 Professional Licensing Boards took place on January 31, 2019 at Valencia College in Orlando. The mission was clear from the beginning - the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation directed the appointed board members and staff to identify unnecessary regulations that can be immediately eliminated.
In his remarks, the Governor commended the hard work of the (volunteer) board members who spent hours away from their businesses to participate. I also appreciate their work, and noted that the boards’ findings provide insight into what steps the Department will take next.
