Drinks on a Train

Full details from the Florida Legislature

All aboard! HB 1265 removes the requirement that intrastate operators of railroads or sleeping cars only sell liquor in miniature bottle.

Under the bill's language, interstate train operators will be stuck with the current mini bottle situation. The legislation also clarifies that interstate train operators must keep alcoholic beverages intended for sale on passenger trains separate from the alcoholic beverages intended for sale in a railroad transit station.

Current law restricts all operators of railroads or sleeping cars to miniature bottles of not more than two ounces.

The law will take effect on July 1, 2018.
